FOSDA is concerned about the numerous protests and threats of Industrial action by Organised Labour from 10th October. These are worrying and high risks for violence in an election period with barely 60 days to the polls. FOSDA is calling on the Government of Ghana to immediately declare a state of emergency to tackle the issue of Galamsey decisively and address the demands of organised labour and other protestors. The continuous protests and strike actions are a recipe for violence and insecurity. We urge his Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, to take swift action to ensure the peace and security of the country.
